Our delightful nephew/cousin Thomas has cerebral palsy. He and his brother Dylan are 4 years old (today, as I write this!) and were born 10 weeks prematurely.
Whilst Thomas is making good progress, he is unable to stand or walk independently. Though he can walk with his walker, he would love to be able to chase his brother around & do everything he can do.
He needs SDR (Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy) surgery to increase his chances of being able to live & walk independently. The cost of this life-changing treatment in the UK is £45,000. Subsequent post-operative physiotherapy & equipment would be a further £10,000 pa for 2-3 years. Therefore £75,000 is needed in order to give him the best possible outcome.
We would love to raise £2000 from our quiz night & donations from friends who are unable to come. We are all so blessed to have not had such challenges with our children and would therefore love to be able to contribute to changing Thomas' life.
