Story
I fell in love with badgers when one night, six years ago, they visited my garden. We have cctv to watch the wildlife and a little black and white face came up to the camera and blew us a kiss!
Each night afterwards, they came, a family of four, I have a video of one adult badger being so comfortable in my garden, that it lay back and had a wonderful belly scratch. We've had badger cubs brought by their mum for their first forage and scamper around my garden. Yes, they leave nose marks in my lawn and holes where they found grubs, but I would rather have them visit and have to repair my lawn than be without my family of badgers.
Then the developers moved in further down the road and disturbed our peace. The houses were built so close to their sett. We raised the alarm but suddenly, a big hole appeared next to the sett and now, my family of badgers visits me no more. This is happening all over the country and I want to help fight their corner.
So, if you love our native wildlife and want to stand up for them, please donate to my 10K walk. Are you Team Badger? Thank you xx
The Badger Trust promotes the welfare, conservation and protection of badgers and their habitats. The biggest threats to modern badgers are road traffic accidents, government sanctioned culling, wildlife crimes, developments, and habitat loss. At the Badger Trust, we provide outreach and education opportunities to schools, training to police forces and local groups, government outreach, support to local groups, press coverage on local and national levels, and drive national level campaigns to educate the public on issues effecting badgers.
