Story
I have supported Helplink Community Support before, in 2009 with a charity challenge. Now I want to raise vital funds once again.
I urge the people of Wirral & beyond to support me in my challenge.
I start my walk on 28th March in the Pyrenees and follow the traditional pilgrim's route originally taken by St James. For the next 58 days I will be walking in a great variety of early spring weather & a variety of terrain for probably a minimum of 5 hours per day. Eventually I will pass through the Cathedral in Santiago & continue on a further 56 miles finishing on the cliffs at Cape Finistere, Spain. A total distance of 571 miles.
As part of my 12-month preparation I walked 205 miles of the route in March 2014. I actively walk throughout the year in the UK & I have also clocked up a few hundred miles of running.
I am funding the trip entirely myself, from flights, accommodation & guides where required to ensure that every penny raised goes straight to Helplink Community Support.
All I ask if for people to "step up to the plate". I shall be putting in the mileage & all I wish is for many in our community to make the hard effort I put in worthwhile.
As i put my final plans in place, the start awaits me as I await your donation & follow my progress every step of the way on Helplink's own website: www.helplink.org.uk
