Why donate to The Trussell Trust?
More and more people are being forced to food banks because there’s nowhere else for them to turn. Last year the food banks in our network provided 1.6 million three-day emergency food supplies to people in crisis and over 500,000 of these went to children. This was an increase of almost 20% on the previous year.
As the Coronavirus outbreak develops, more people than ever could need our help.
Your generous support means food banks will be able to continue to provide the lifeline of emergency food to people in crisis.
We’re doing all we can to support food banks at this time. Your support means that we can:
- Offer additional support, funding, partnerships and guidance to food banks to help them adapt and continue to provide support to people during this challenging time
- Prepare to support food banks after the immediate crisis has passed. When the pandemic passes, we’ll be working with food banks to help people in communities across the country with issues that have arisen as a result of the pandemic, and also supporting food banks to work towards a future where their food bank is no longer needed in that community
- Step up our work to tackle the structural reasons behind people needing food banks, so we can move towards a future where that help isn’t needed – this includes funding ground breaking research, campaigns and work with policy makers to find and make the changes needed to ensure we all have enough money for the essentials.
