Story
My mum was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's 10years ago at the young age of 55. Before this she was a happy, go lucky, exceptional lady who wore her heart on her sleeve. She loved life and her smile lit up any room. My mum was the most selfless person I know and loved her family immensely. Today she is bedridden, speechless, recognises nobody and is totally dependent on her carers to keep her alive. Alzheimer's has robbed her of life with her husband, children and special time with her 3 Grandsons who she has never known. There are many more people, like my mum, who are diagnosed with this heartbreaking disease at a young age. I hope, that with advances in science and medicine, we can find a cure and people won't have to suffer such a slow killing illness.
