Story
I am fundraising for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
In 2016, when Charlie & Millie were only 6 & 7 we were told the words no one should ever have to hear.. "you have Motor Neurone Disease"
Our world was turned upside down, Baz had been given a life sentence, and one which for so many people is a very short one.. the average life expectancy of someone with MND is 18-36 months.
We grieved, for the future we wanted and weren't going to get, and for the times Charlie & Millie will not be able to have their awesome, dedicated and loving dad there with them. Baz wasn't sure he'd get to see them reach secondary school, fortunately he's an immensely strong and stubborn man, and this has carried him through.
We live each day as it comes, living with a degenerative disease is HARD.. so hard, but we try to make the best of each situation. My way of giving back is to try to raise as much as I can to fight this horrible disease.
I am therefore doing what I said I would never do again! After starting my running journey in lockdown 2020, I am going to pound the streets of London to raise money for MND. If you can find it in your heart and your pocket to sponsor me, I would be very grateful. The money raised will help those warriors living with the disease, and will help research to prevent others from going through what we have to on a daily basis.
The places for London cost the charities £1000 each, and therefore I feel a responsibility to raise as much as I possibly can to support their work
Thanks
Helen, Baz, Charlie & Millie xxx
