Story
Hi. As some of you may know, my lovely sister, Lisa, passed away on the 12th December 2012. She had a progressive degenerative illness called Niemann Picks Type C. She was the bravest person I know. As a family we have raised lots of money for the Niemann Picks charity over the years to support other sufferers and fund research.
As Lisa's illness progressed, another charity which helped us enormously was Leonard Cheshire Disability Lisa spent a lot of time at a Leonard Cheshire Disability residential nursing home. Leonard Cheshire Disability do incredible work supporting those with disabilities to live as full and independent life as possible. I have decided to raise money for them by running the London Marathon.
I entered on a day when I should have been running the Kinder Downfall Fell Race. Instead, I was watching the London Marathon 2017 whilst nursing a broken collar bone and 2 broken ribs resulting from yet another bone busting ski fall. I was feeling exceedingly sorry for myself, and under the influence of strong pain meds when I foolishly decided that running the marathon was a very good idea. As the drugs wore off I did wonder why on earth I would do such a thing - but now I'm committed, and what I need to motivate me is lots of generous sponsorship for Leonard Cheshire Disability!
Thanks for your support, and if you fancy a training run with me, the company would be much appreciated!
