Story
Dear All
Thanks so much for visiting my fundraising page and hopefully you'll read about my challenge and decide to donate to MacMillan Cancer Support, they are an amazing charity who do amazing work.
Last year many of you will know I took part in the London to Paris bike ride and this year I have decided to build on this and go further, faster, harder from Paris to Geneva. Not only is the language a challenge but it involves climbing over a handful of the Jura Mountains - one in particular called the Col de la Faucille which is about 12km's of continuous climbing uphill on a bike around hairpin bends - this is BIG in my wee world and will involve a long period of drawn out pain. This takes place on the last day prior to which I will have been cycling 100-120k per day for 4 days and getting sickened by pasta salad. I am scared and training hard.
I know you are asking why I would put myself through this - well it's the thought of the cold beer at the end of a hard day and also knowing I am doing it for a great cause.
Please donate and remember to gift aid your donation, if applicable, to help make the money go further for MacMillan.
Thank you so much, Helen
PS. I would like you to know that I will be buying my own cold beer at the end of the day and also paying all the costs associated with undertaking this challenge so any donations you make will be going fully to the charity
PPS. A note from Justgiving: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
