Story
Dearest family and friends
It was a long nine months, but at last I finished my core treatment in August and fingers crossed that’s Breast Cancer and me done! An almighty thank you to those of you who played your part keeping my spirits up; gifts of flowers, lotions & potions, sweet treats, recipe books, scarves, heartfelt text messages & cards, walks around the park, home cooked meals and looking out for my precious family; they all made a huge difference especially during the lonely nights when it was a struggle to sleep. I chose to deal with my illness as privately as possible, so apologies to those of you who I never told, I did want to, but I didn’t want a fuss either.. I’m a complicated character!
Now that I’m out the other end, I have a spring in my step and fundraising is next on the agenda. So on Friday 27th September I’ll be taking part in Maggie’s 10K Culture Night Crawl. Maggie’s helps anyone affected by cancer in over 22 centres nationwide offering much needed free practical, emotional and social support. I’ll be fundraising for Maggie’s new centre launching at The Royal Marsden next month, which is where I had all my treatment.
I appreciate that you are inundated with similar requests, but if you could spare a little cash I’d be so grateful..
As an aside, if you know anyone going through breast cancer, who you think might appreciate a call, please let me know and I’d be more than delighted to help in any way that I can.
Thank you. You are all wonderful!
