Welcome to Our London Landmarks Half Marathon profile page for Diabetes UK. We want to support Diabetes UK, because Andy My husband and Heather's Dad has a genetic type of Diabetes.  When I first met him over 20 years ago he had to inject insulin every day.  Then through research they discovered the gene which he has missing and developed a tablet to mimic this gene.  This opened up a whole new life for him - no more injecting insulin.  However in this past year it has not been so efficient and he has had to start injecting insulin again, much to his disappointment.  So we are running to raise money to help research to help more people with Diabetes to have a better quality of life and who knows they may discover something else to help Andy again.
