We swim because we are too sexy for sports that require clothes!

Swimming the English Channel....perspective....that's all it needs....isn't it?  More people have climbed Everest, and we definitely won't be doing that anytime soon!  We are neither athletic nor sporty in our appearance, and there is nothing about either of us that would make you think we could swim a length of a public pool, let alone this. Yet here we are, signed, sealed and well on our way to being delivered as Team 'Aitch Sea Jays' in September 2017.

So, long gone are the days of putting in a quick lap of the lake on a Saturday morning and claiming it as a 'workout'. Lake monsters have become sea monsters, hot chocolate has been switched for what can only be described as 'gloop' and we are saving that special moment of getting 'greased up' for when the chaffing has become too much to bear! Thankfully, jelly babies seem to be the constant.

For now, 2016 sees us continue our journey in lakes and rivers with a 10k in June, a 14k in August and this years 'big' one of 10.5 miles in Lake Windermere in September.

In short, you have about 17 months of annoying facebook posts to endure - about how cold we are, how wrinkly we are (not sure we need to add water for this anymore!), how the fake tan comes off after every swim and how sick we have been!

They say that real life begins at the end of your comfort zone and every year we try to go one step further. Your support and generosity has already been tested to the maximum, yet we need your support more than ever now. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for continuing to believe in us and what we are trying to achieve in memory of our sister Heather.  H2O = 2 hearts 1 obsession.
