Thanks for taking the time to visit my page
I am running the London Marathon for London Wildlife Trust because keeping our surroundings green and full of birdsong and creatures is so important to me. From bugs to keep my children entertained (where have the stag beetles of my childhood gone 😢) and some amazing sightings during my training runs (Kingfishers in Deptford!!) puts the biggest smile on my face, even when the heron ate the frogs in our pond recently (poor froggy 🐸)...:
Such a boost for mental health as well, wildlife spotting has certainly helped get me through some of the darker days of COVID and tougher times in life...
This is my first marathon and it's been really tough training (300km this year so far..) but I have given it my best. I was lucky (!?) enough to get a ballot place for the race, wasn't quite prepared for that but knowing I am raising for a great charity will hopefully keep me going on those last painful miles so anything you can give would be great.
Ps it's a frog in my hand in the photo. Spent my childhood in and out of my parents pond, literally! Mum wasn't too pleased when I started putting them on my head 😉
Thanks so much for all your support and if you have a favourite running/exercise song then please let me know, many hours of music to fill!!
