Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Knowing someone who has suffered a stroke at the age of only 16 and seeing the impact it has had on their life, has made me realise that life can throw absolutely anything at you no matter how fit and healthy you may be. Thankfully the survivor I know has had no lasting physical effects of their stroke but did suffer aphasia so has had to learn to speak, read & write again. He was one of the lucky ones but will continue to live with the consequences of having suffered a stroke for many more years to come. Not everyone is this lucky & the work that Stroke Association provides is so important.
The work that Stroke Association does is vital to help prevent strokes happening and making people aware of the signs of stroke, as well as provide those who have suffered a stroke with the best chances of a full recovery.
I am running the Marathon to raise awareness for stroke and help raise money to help the Stroke Association's future research and further develop their network of support for stroke survivors.
I am trying to balance my training with my Postgraduate Diploma & Masters studies which is proving to be a far greater challenge than I anticipated. However, I am determined to complete the Marathon for this amazing charity & raise as much money as I can for them.
Updates on training to follow!
