In 2011 I lost one of my best friends, a mother of 3, to
ovarian cancer and in Autumn 2012 I completed the Women v Cancer cycle
challenge in her memory. I was staggered at the generosity of my friends and
colleagues who helped me to raise almost £5000 for this very worthy cause.

Next month from 26th September until 4th October I will be embarking on my next charity challenge. This year, the challenge will see me, and the rest of the Women V Cancer cycle team, cycle across Brazil. Training is well underway and fundraising has already begun. My upcoming challenge follows on from several marathons, half marathons and other bike treks in recent years, which have seen my complete cycle challenges across India, Cuba, Vietnam and Cambodia, all in aid of charity.

For the Brazil challenge, Helen will split her fundraising total between Wirral-based children’s charity Claire House Hospice, and Women V Cancer, a fundraising partnership between Breast Cancer Care, Ovarian Cancer Action and Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust.

A special charity cocktail and casino night with live music has been organised by Helen at Inglewood Manor on September 15 to help raise money for Claire House Hospice and Women V Cancer. For more information, email Judith.Kenyon@jaykayevents.co.uk.
