Story
In this the year of my 50th birthday, I have compiled a "50 things at 50" list detailing all the things that I want to achieve. I wrote this after reading the quote "If something you are doing doesn’t challenge you, then it doesn’t change you.” It is with much regret that I have too often lived my life being overly cautious. I have tended to take the easy option rather than challenging myself and pushing my boundaries. My list aims to finally address this and undertaking a sky dive was top of the list.
Imagine my delight when I read an appeal for people to undertake a sky dive to raise funds for the Jim Cronin Memorial Fund.
In 1987, the late Jim Cronin set up Monkey World in Dorset, an ape and monkey rescue centre . The work undertaken at Monkey World has since been documented on TV and has done much to educate me and many others about the illegal smuggling of primates from the wild and the conservation of our closest relatives. It has even prompted me to "adopt" chimpanzee Ben (choosen on account of us both having lost a toe!)
It will be absolutely fantastic to challenge myself in a way that I did not think I would ever dare whilst also raising monies for a charity so dear to my heart.
Those that know me will also be aware that I will be getting married for the first time this Spring. We are also asking that any wedding guests who were thinking of buying us gifts to please donate here instead.
Please help me raise as much as possible!
