Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
In November 2012, my lovely mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. i was devastated, how could this horrible, nasty disease find its way into someone so caring and loving! My mum was never ill so this came as a massive shock to myself and the rest of my family.
The next few months following her diagnosis were just filled with worry, we always seemed to be waiting on test results! Scan results, operation results! My stomach would turn every time my mum phoned to tell me what the next steps were! Everyone told me that I had to be strong for her which I was but inside my heart was aching, I have never seen my mum ill and to see her in this vulnerable position broke my heart.
After 2 operations and radiotherapy, my mum was given the all clear in March 2013! The courage and strength she showed throughout this time was amazing! She was always positive and always had a smile on her face and this is what got her and the rest of my family through this testing time! So the only thing this horrible disease proved was what an amazing woman she is!
So to show her how proud we are of her and for everyone who has fought breast cancer and survived, the ones who put up a fight right until the end and the ones who are still fighting, myself, my dad and my brother are running this marathon! Never give up, breast cancer needs to know its not welcome into anyone's family!!!
I've never run a marathon before so any support or donations would be grately recieved! Thank you!!! Xx
