Story
On Thursday 8th March 2012 at 8.45am I reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro and experienced what it was like to be on the Roof of Africa! It was a totally amazing experience, one I will never forget. The climb was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life but the rewards were enormous.. The money that you donate will enable young people to be invested in further by Compassion’s Leadership Development Programme (LDP).
Each year, thousands of students graduate from Compassion’s Child Development Programme. Among them are a number of young leaders who aspire to continue their education in order to become agents of change for their communities and nations, yet lack the resources to do so.
Compassion’s LDP allows students to attend university. These students have already overcome exceptional obstacles in their lives to be where they are today. Your sponsorship will help provide these students with a university education, additional support with study materials and living expenses, leadership training, and one-to-one mentoring.
Recent graduates from Compassion’s LDP have gone on to become agriculturalists, biomedical technicians, businesspeople, doctors, teachers, pastors and Members of Parliament. Who knows, the next president of a nation could be an LDP student!
By financially backing this project you are making a direct contribution to the enabling of these young leaders to be a positive influence on their nation’s future. If we want to see change happen, and leaders being more Godly, then we must invest in children and young people who will be those leaders in the years to come.
Thank you for your support!
