For those of you that know us, you will understand how much your visit to this page and all donations made means to us.
Last year we decided to do something ‘different’ by completing both the Marlow and the Great London 1 mile open water swims in memory of our younger sister, Heather, who passed away unexpectedly in 2009.
This year we have decided to do something ‘stupid’ by signing up to the Lake Coniston End to End swim, which takes place on September 6th.
Although this 5.25 mile event takes us even further out of our comfort zones, we are now more aware of the facts; there is definitely no lake zombie; all the fish are hiding in the fishy panic room; one of us has yet to pee in our wetsuit – I will leave it to you to decide which.
We know that Heather will be watching and will be immensely proud of us, just as we continue to be proud of the legacy she left behind in her children Hollie, David and the late Charlie and her remarkable grandson Charlie. Your sponsorship in recognition of her short, but fun filled life, and in support of the continued work of the British Heart Foundation is treasured.
We are also swimming in honour of Ben Colling, a friend who suffered a stroke in 2013. His resolve, courage and sheer determination to succeed in his lengthy recuperation is astonishing and utterly awe inspiring. We know that your acknowledgment of his personal battle will be appreciated.
Thank you from all of us!
