I first heard of The Eve Appeal when my friend asked me to collect the donations made at his wife's funeral.  Sara was only 39 when she lost her short but very brave battle against ovarian cancer.  

The Eve Appeal also supported my best friend with information when her mum Joan was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.  Joan had a difficult and challenging 3 years of treatment before succumbing to cancer aged 69.  

It's at times like these when you realise it could be someone you know - a mother, sister, daughter, girlfriend or you who could be diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer.  The Eve Appeal does an amazing job in raising money for research into these cancers.
