Story
As I shall be turning 60 next year, I decided I need a challenge in my life so I have signed up to make a trek through the jungle of Northern Thailand next November in aid of St Luke's Hospice with 30 other like minded people. The route we shall be taking is called "The Old Elephant Trail" along the border of Thailand and Myanmar through a mountainous jungle malaria area for 6 days. Most days we shall be walking for 6-7 hours with the longest day being 10-11 hours or longer! It is described as a moderate/tough challenge with the main challenge being the heat and humidity. We shall be passing through small remote villages and camping in school fields where possible.
In order to participate in this amazing experience I need to raise £3000 in sponsor money part of which I shall be funding myself but if anyone would like to sponsor me for any amount however small, I would be most grateful. As most of you know, I used to work at St Luke's Hospice so I really know what a wonderful service the hospice gives but on a more personal note, I shall be making this trek in memory of Dan - a very special guy who died in St Luke's 5 years ago next month.
Any donation will be most welcome and I shall keep you updated with my training and fundrasing progress.
