Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My nephew was diagnosed with Phenylketonuria or 'PKU' when he was just 3 weeks old.  In short, this means that he is lacking the gene which breaks down the protein in foods and therefore is unable to eat the foods we eat.  Each week the hospital has to send him special foods with no or very low protein. If he doesn't keep to this strict diet, he can develop lots of problems later on in life, the most severe being brain damage.

By running the half marathon, I wanted to show my support to my brother and my family and hopefully raise some money and awareness for a lesser known charity.

Please visit the following website to find out more.

Really appreciate your help - I will need all the support and encouragement I can get (believe me!)

Thanks again

Helen
