Story
My son Ruairi has been part of Accessible Arts Inclusive Music Project for 3 years. They have helped him to build his confidence to perform in front of an audience. His first concert, he really didn't want to go on. Last November he performed confidently with the group at the York Cullture Awards. He is now so confident on stage, he took part in the Scout and Guide Gang Show last year - something I would not have thought possible a couple of years ago! Accessible Arts & Media runs inclusive creative learning programmes for disabled people, young people, older people and people with mental health problems. Our projects help over 800 people each year to: learn new skills; gain the confidence to have more of a say in the things that matter to them; explore and connect with the world around them in a safe, supportive, fun environment; make new friends and socialise; play an active part in their local community; and feel happier and healthier.Things are better when we all work together!
