Story

Did you know 49% of people 65 and over in the UK say that television or pets are their main form of company.

The nations population has a distinctively older age profile than it did 16 years ago (census.gov 2017).

Imagine if your great grandparents, grandads/ grandmas, mother or father didn't have anyone to talk to socially. What if that was you in 20/30/40 years time?

With such a shift in population profile we need to start becoming aware that the older generations need more support. 21% of men and 30% of women aged over 65 need help with at least one Activity of Daily Living (ADL).

This could easily be my age group in a few decades, which is why I believe the time is now to start realising that the ageing population requires more attention, than what it is currently being given.  Whether this is hospital care, hearing/ sight loss, or just someone to talk to on a weekly basis all holds importance.

Let's lose loneliness.
