UPDATE APRIL 2022
I've been so very touched by all the support I've received, and the wonderful contributions to Macmillan. I've now lost not only all the hair on my head but pretty much everywhere else on my body too. The downside of losing eyelashes and nose hairs means my eyes water and my nose runs most of the time, but #OnTheBrightSide I don't have to shave my legs anymore which is a plus .
All being well, chemo will finish at the end of April to be followed by surgery 4-6 weeks later and then further treatment dependent on the results of the histology.
I've continued to be impressed by the work of Macmillan in so many ways. I've been given copies of different booklets produced by them on various aspects of dealing with cancer. Their online and in-person support is evident in all the different cancer settings I've visited, and I know from people in the Facebook group I joined, for people with the same type of cancer, that many of them have received very practical help including dealing with financial challenges whilst undergoing treatment.
So please continue to donate what you can, it's very much appreciated and will be put to good use, thank you xx

This isn’t exactly a sponsored head-shave because having chemo means I’ll be losing all my hair in the next week or two, so I decided to take control and ask my lovely hairdresser Mel to shave most of it off in anticipation.
It’s only a stepping stone to going totally bald, but #onthebrightside I’ve still got some colour from my pre-Christmas hairdo so haven’t gone totally white yet either
But if you do feel like donating a few pounds to Macmillan, just because they are an amazing charity and do wonderful work, that would be such a positive thing. Macmillan have already been so helpful to me and Ray. Just the day after receiving the diagnosis, in a state of panic and fear, I can’t tell you how much it helped us when a lovely lady picked up the phone at the Macmillan information centre at Pinderfields Hospital. She was not only empathetic, she went on to speak to various people on our behalf, and I believe as a direct result of that I got a speedy appointment for the CT scan which then enabled my treatment to be put in place without further delays. For me, on that day, she really was like a guardian angel and it would be lovely to give something back .
Thanks for supporting my fundraising.
