Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Last year, at the age of 68, I climbed my first ever mountain - Mount Snowdon in
Wales (1,085m) - via the Miners' Track. It took me 5 hours to climb, and 3 hours to descend and I lost a toenail in the process. It was a very hard struggle, but an amazing feeling to stand on the highest point in
England and Wales and see spectacular views for miles beyond!
This year, I'm determined to climb even higher and I have set myself the goal of climbing the highest mountain in the UK (Ben Nevis 1,345m) and raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support in the process. This is not part of an organised event - this is my own personal challenge. I want to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan in memory of my twin brothers Patrick and Michael, in order to support other families with loved ones affected by cancer.
I've been training really hard for this climb; swimming, gymming and circuits of a local hill.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to Macmillan, so it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs.
Thank you wholeheartedly for your support!
