My name is Helen and I am taking part in the Strictly Best Foot Forward for Bury Hospice 2022, with my partner Paul. We are both new to ballroom dancing and we are finding this quite a challenge to say the least.

In my heart I knew I had to do it as in 2019 my lovely, lovely Uncle Andrew passed away in the Hospice. The care my Uncle received from everyone during his illness was second to none and the support given to his family during and after his passing was  tremendous.  This is a very special place, with a special team of people.

I don't think people realise how much it costs to run a place like this.  I didn't until my Uncle was there, and his family started raising money for the Hospice.

It costs £3.5million pounds to run Bury Hospice, and as a charity we have to raise £3 million through community support. Every donation makes a difference.
