Story
I completed the Great North Run a number of times when I was much younger (and much fitter), so was really excited to get a place to run in 2020, being the 40th anniversary of the run, my 50th birthday year and the 125th anniversary of the founding of the National Trust.
The coronavirus pandemic put everything on hold but I am lucky enough to live within a couple of miles of the Dunham Massey estate, cared for by the National Trust, which provides fabulous green space and access to nature for walking, cycling and running and helps me stay in good physical and mental health.
The National Trust is a charity that looks after special places throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland for ever, for everyone. This includes 780 miles of coastline, over 248,000 hectares of land and over 500 historic houses, castles, ancient monuments gardens and parks and nature reserves.
Please sponsor me through my 13.1 miles of pain to make sure that these special places receive the care and attention they need!
