Over 20 years ago, when I was in my mid-twenties, I was told I had osteoporosis. I was very lucky it was spotted when it was and that the advice and support I was given meant that 5 years after being told I had bones more common in a 60 year old, I was told my bones were 'normal' again! Since then I've had to take a tablet every day and continue with the healthy diet and weight bearing exercise ... but it's a small price to pay to have 'normal' bones :)
In the last few years I have discovered I love running and in the last year I have been building up to 'the big one' ... a marathon. As I get older I grab every opportunity I can, and the chance to run 'the big one' for a charity that supports something personal to me feels like the best opportunity yet!
Thank you for reading my story ... and hopefully for deciding that you would like to support me in my challenge to run the London Marathon and raise as much as I can for the National Osteoporosis Society.
