Story
In December last year one of my favourite people was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Being the awesome, strong and beautiful soul that she is, she has met this disease head on. When others struggle to get out of bed following chemo she is disappointed she only cycled 16km!
I first met Amy in 2002 when we joined Dartmouth together; we got close when we served together as the 'Ma'ams' in HMS Norfolk. During the many years of friendship that have followed we have had so many laughs, and a few tears.
When she told me the diagnosis, I tried not to cry, with very little success. When I saw her properly for the first time and she talked me through her long treatment plan, starting with chemo....I had a good idea! If my beautiful friend was going to lose her hair then I would shave my head in support. Well, cos she is so awesome and has endured the cold cap she actually still has a fair amount of hair...still I figured that I could do without hair for a while so I will do it anyway!
Having discussed it with Amy she would like any money raised to go to Yeovil Hospital, who are currently doing a Breast Cancer Unit Appeal:

I will of course record the event and put it on social media, hopefully giving many of you something to smile about.
