Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For those of you who know me well I’m sure you will confirm that I love a challenge especially if it includes some sort of painful physical battle! Therefore when I saw this event I just couldn’t resist it. I am a palliative nurse working at this much loved and respected hospice ‘called Mary Stevens Hospice’, so when I decided to embark on this personal challenge I thought it would be a great way to fundraise for our fantastic local hospice. The hospice not only has an inpatient unit but it also has a super day unit with therapists and a wonderful spiritual team not to mention our bereavement team that do some of the most important and amazing work. The hospice helps to support patients with life limiting illnesses and their loved ones but to do be able to do this work the hospice relies on the good will of donations.
Please checkout the website for more details on the amazing work the hospice does to serve our local community.
Obviously the hospice is very close to my heart, not only am I privileged to work on the inpatient unit but two of my own family members were cared for there during their last days of life.
All I ask is that if you can spare some small change for this humongous challenge I’d be forever and immensely grateful to you. Every £1 makes a huge difference to the hospice so please if you can spare a coin I’d be the happiest Walker/ runner alive!
I’ll keep you updated along the way with my highs and lows, hopefully more highs!
