As some of you may be aware my mum has recently been diagnosed with bowel cancer. The most important person in anyones life is their mum and I'm no different. My mum is my best friend, my confidante, my ray of sunshine when I need to find a smile, my security blanket when I need a hug, my mum is my reason for being me. I have decided to try to raise money for www.beatingbowelcancer.org to try and raise awareness of this form of cancer and of course in the hope that my small donation may result in the miracle of the discovery of a cure. A final reason for me wanting to raise money for this charity is I want to give my mum a reason to smile, for once I want to be HER ray of sunshine. I am also sure some of you will understand I want to feel as if I am 'doing' something to help because I feel so helpless. I am sure those of you that know me are aware, exercise is not a particular forte of mine so I thought I would combine this enjoyable walking and climbing the 3 beautiful peaks the Yorkshire Dales with raising awareness of bowel cancer and of course collecting much appreciated donations from all of my very generous family friends and colleagues.
