Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This March I will be running 27 miles in 27 days in solidarity with the 27% of students who experience mental health problems at University.
I am one of those 27%, and if you had asked me if this would be the case 2 years ago, I would have said not a chance. I never thought that I would have problems with my mental health or what a huge impact it would have upon the life of my family and I, but mental health problems can affect anyone.
As you may or may not know, this past year has been particularly difficult for me, and I have been battling my own mental health challenges. Now, whilst on the road to recovery I am taking part in this challenge to help raise both awareness and money for Mind.
More students are experiencing mental health problems than ever before. The number of students reporting a mental health problem is five times greater today than it was ten years ago, while the number of students dropping out because of mental health problems has trebled.
Taking part in the 27 27 challenge aims to send out a message: it's time to take our mental health seriously, everyone with a mental health problem needs support and respect.
Mind provides a national voice and local support for anybody experiencing a mental health problem. By donating you're helping to raise awareness of student mental health and helping the 27% of us who report a mental health problem whilst at University.
Thanks for taking the time to read my page, any donations would be gratefully appreciated.
