Talbot Butler is an Oncology & Haematology ward at Northampton General Hospital & they are fundraising to create an Emergency Assessment Bay to reduce the risk to patients undergoing treatment who are admitted in an emergency situation.
My mum passed away at the end of January 2019 after a short, but aggressive, battle with cancer. During her final couple of weeks she was looked after and made comfortable by the incredibly passionate, hardworking & caring nurses, doctors and consultants on Talbot Butler ward. Being the lady she was, she got to know them all quite well in her short time there and they all thought the world of her too. Providing space for patients to be assessed, treated and cared for 24 hours a day, but more importantly- away from the main A&E department where they are at risk of contracting infections is hugely increased.
I’d love for people to help support this opportunity for future patients & families.
I’m running a half marathon, a 20 mile trail event, a trail marathon and finishing with the New Forest Marathon in September to raise funds for this much needed facility. Your help & support will not only motivate me to get my lazy butt out of bed on a Sunday morning, but will potentially save someone’s life.
