Story
Lots and lots of people seem to be taking it upon themselves to have icy water thrown over them and post it on social media sites. Thank you- This has provided me with ALOT of entertainment- its absolutely hillarious! You brilliant crazy, crazy people! ;)
Whilst such a crazy viral campaigns intended for charity is awe inspiring, anyone else noticed the central message to donate to a charity seems to have been lost?
So, i have a proposal. You icy people have done the hard work- lets see some rewards! Ive nominated Centrepoint to be a benefactor here because clearly there is a link between being cold, wet, icy and being homeless. Centrepoint do phenemenal work to help young people to overcome their issues and get back on their feet.
So heres the deal. On September 7th 2014 my own company is holding a Clothes Swapping tea party, see here for some more info- https://www.facebook.com/events/781209565233672/. I (thankfully) haven't yet been nominated for the ice bucket challenge however, if I reach £500 fundraising on here i pledge that i will do the ice bucket challenge at the event at 8pm!
I also pledge that the leftover clothes from the event will be donated via clothesforcharity to raise even more money for Centrepoint. Please do drop everything to come along, it really will be a fab night. If you really can make it then naturally, this will be posted online so that i can be further reminded of this moment of glory for years to come!
So if you have done the icebucket challenge, or watched the videos (which unless you have been living on the moon you are very likely to have done!) then just remember how cold, wet and awful you felt- even as an internet spectator, there have been some real bum cheek clenching moments! im sure you wouldnt want to inflict that upon anyone- especially me. But hey ho - i will take one for the team!
Guys dig deep, tell everyone and spread the word- lets get to the £500! Join us on the 7th for a great night of clothes, music and public humiliation - All for a very honourable and worthy cause!
Over and out!!
