Team Nic Challenge for The Christie at Macclesfield, 23 August 2019
The Christie at Macclesfield brings cancer care closer to the local area

Story

In February Nic was diagnosed with breast cancer and has been receiving treatment from the wonderful Christie Hospital.  Team Nic (Nic, Sarah, Val, Ali, Sue, Sian and Helen) want to acknowledge her incredible positivity throughout the months of treatment - and what better way than to undertake a challenge to raise funds for the new Christie centre in Macclesfield.

Our challenge is to walk a total of 256 (collective) miles over two days, 24 & 25 August, including two overnight camps, in the Derbyshire Peak District.  This represents 8 return journeys from Macclesfield to the Christie.  It also reminds us of the power of friendship during life's challenges. There will be few people in this area whose lives have not been touched by the Christie.

The Christie charity is aiming to raise £23 million for the proposed construction of a new centre in Macclesfield where Christie patients will be able to receive outstanding cancer care, closer to home.
