Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Ollie and I have decided to attempt to run the London Marathon in October for Alzheimer’s research UK as our family has been impacted by this terrible disease, I have seen lovely Aunts impacted and my own father and Ollie’s papa impacted so now its time for action. The least we can do is get out there and run for this worthwhile cause.
We are also running this for our friend Imran Sherwani who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease . Imran was part of the 1988 Gold Olympic Hockey team that my husband and Ollie’s Dad was part of. We are joining Steve Batchelor (our team captain), who helped step up Imran with the third goal in the final at the 1988 Olympics to win 3-1 over West Germany, that goal led to the iconic “ Where were the Germans but frankly who cares?’ Commentary from Barry Davies. Eight of us will make up the team including Imran’s son, some tired legs will once again win the day!
