There are 100,000 children with life-threatening illnesses in the UK and due to the pandemic over the last 12 months, childrens wards have been taken over by Coronavirus treatment, and children have been moved to new wards, with new nurses and new faces, at a time they are already feeling overwhelmed and scared. Social distancing is happening in hospitals and visiting times have been reduced sometimes to as little as one parent for an hour a day. With your help Starlight can provide frontline NHS health workers with the tools and and resources to alleviate anxiety, stress and loneliness for seriously ill children through the power of play.
