Story
Read Charles' account and see pictures of the day at http://www.justgiving.com/Charles-Hodson
On Saturday 11th September 2010 I'll be walking between all seven churches in Quantock Towers Benefice (group of parishes). It's a distance of 15 miles, nearly 24 kms, and should take us all day.
It's part of a national event, the "Ride 'n' Stride", which raises money for the upkeep of ancient chapels and churches of all denominations across the country. Our contributions will go to the local branch, the Friends of Somerset Churches and Chapels.
I’ve attached a picture of the interior of the church in the tiny , which we’ll be visiting. Like a lot of local churches it has a small congregation and faces a real challenge in keeping the building maintained for posterity.
I'm hoping you will dig deep to support my fellow walkers and me as we raise money to maintain some of Somerset's most fascinating buildings, often in remote and beautiful locations, and keep them safe for future generations.
And it's probably not too late to take part yourself! Drop me an email if you would like to.
Do please be generous and donate now – maybe £1 per church, making £7? Or just 70p would be really appreciated.
If you prefer I do have a good old-fashioned sponsor form and can put your name down on there.I hope you’ll join me in preserving our heritage.
With thanks for your support,
Heike
