Story
In early 2020 I was lucky enough to receive a charity place for the London Marathon with Isabel Hospice. Full of excitement & enthusiasm I began training, working out my times, my fuelling, doing the 4am starts for long runs. Unfortunately, covid came along and smacked the excitement out of me as the in person event would be cancelled for the year with a virtual event taking place in October instead. October came round and I completed the Virtual London Marathon 2020 in possibly the wettest day of the year (honestly, if I'd done a section on the bike it would have been a Triathlon, I almost swam the flooding was so bad!).
Your kindness in 2020 raised over £3000 which was incredible. I've been very fortunate to be given a place with my charity to run the real thing (honestly the only reason I'd do a second marathon!) in October this year and so while I have met my fundraising target for my place due to the generous donations in 2020, I would LOVE to raise some money again for this incredibly important local charity. If you can spare a couple quid, I'm aiming to raise the distance of a marathon, 26.2 miles, and every bit of support will keep me running that little bit further on race day. All my love, Heidi x
