Those who know me well will know how dear to my heart Yeldall Manor is.  My parents started this work in 1977.  We lived there as a family for 3 years.  I now am back in the 'neighbourhood', living just a couple of miles away.

Yeldall provides a Christian response to addiction, both drug and alcohol.  It is a long-term residential rehabilitation centre.  Funding comes from a variety of sources, including some government funding, and some individual funding.  The government funding has recently become more and more difficult to obtain, and so I want to do my part in helping to keep this vital work going! 

The residents come to the Manor from all over the UK and have often faced years of addiction.  They know that they will have to give up their drugs and alcohol for life.  For me, just giving up something for a short time is a huge challenge, but I believe that God often calls us to give sacrificially in order to benefit others. 

So my part in this will be to give up both meat and alcohol for the 40 days of Lent from Ash Wednesday (Feb 17th) to Easter Sunday (April 4th).  I am seeking 'sponsorship' for my fast.  Will you please join with me and help out the fantastic work that Yeldall Manor does?  Any amount, large or small, will encourage me AND even more important, the residents and staff of Yeldall Manor.
