Story
There are many reasons why I have decided to create this fundraiser.
From a personal point having found a breast tumour in the very early stages myself and the uncertainty and torment that follows even after a year and a half tumour free.
To my family members and good friends that have and are currently experiencing the effects of a cancer diagnosis.
To the fact, at the age of 25, I wanted to pursue my career in cancer services to become a qualified Therapeutic Radiographer and help as many people as I can.
ALL of these factors have enabled me to help and care for these people, who once start off as strangers but as treatment goes on, become very hard to say goodbye to once their treatments have been completed.
The hardest part of this current situation is the lack of personal interaction, not being able to smile and hug someone on their last day of treatment, as you look on feeling like a proud parent ringing the bell and waving them through the door (trying your hardest not to well up).
If I can just do my little bit to help get cancer services back up and running to full capacity in such uncertain times, whilst losing some much-needed tummy - it's a no brainer to give it a go!
As many of you may already know, I'm not a natural-born runner by any standards - so this really is a challenge for me! So dream big and stick a couple of quid in it's for a great cause and it will be greatly appreciated.
Want to join me in supporting a good cause? I'm raising money for Cancer Research UK and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate £5 or £500. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support. I've included information about Cancer Research UK below.
Together we will beat cancer.
