On 4th September, I will be attempting the 3rd Tearfund Thames Triathlon - 52 miles of running (10 miles), kayaking/rowing (10 miles) and cycling (32 miles), along and around the river Thames, from near the Tearfund office in Teddington.
We're following Jesus where the need is greatest, working through local churches to unlock people's potential and helping them to discover that the answer to poverty is within themselves. When disasters strike, we respond quickly. We won't stop until poverty stops.
Ruths children used to beg for food. It broke her heart. Everything seemed hopeless, she says. But then Ruth attended a course run by her church, where she was taught better farming methods. Now she can feed her family, and is saving up money so that her children can go to school. Everything has changed, says Ruth. Its so exciting!
We'll be attempting this huge 52 mile challenge to make sure that we can help more people like Ruth and her family.
