It will be 12 years on 25th July since we said goodbye to a huge part of our lives. My sister Kelly, a daughter, auntie and much more. She was just 27 when she passed away and had battled 10 years against brain tumours, originally she had 6, its hard to say when she died how many she was left with. They took her life but before this they took her independence, her mobility, her speech, eyesight and ability to live day to day life. We stood by and watched daily as she slowly became someone we barely recognised.
It's been hard, more so for our Mum. Brain tumours take so many children's lives and nobody should have to bury a child. And at the age of 15 I struggled to understand or grasp the impact it would leave. It's never got easier. I feel life took my best friend. My only real sister. The doctors that worked with her where beyond amazing but unfortunately there came a time when they could do no more. That's why I have decided it is time for me do something big. Something that will not only raise funds for vital research so that other families can fight this disease but something that will also raise awareness. On the 28th of July this year 12 years since I held my sisters hand as she passed away I will be shaving my hair off. All of it! I aim to raise £2000 for the brain tumour charity to fund research and help support families. Please help me reach my goal! In loving memory of my sister xxx
