Story

SpecialEffect are a charity that puts fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities by helping them to play video games. Using technology ranging from modified games controllers to eye-control, they are finding a way for people of all ages to play to the very best of their abilities. There's no one-size-fits-all way of doing this, so SpecialEffect's expert team meet people face-to-face to find out exactly what they want to play and assess what they will need to play it. They then match or modify technology to create and loan truly personalised gaming control setups, and back this up with lifelong follow-up support.SpecialEffect don't charge for any of their services, so rely 100% on donations raised by gamers and the wider community. That's why events like this are so important in helping them to keep doing whatever it takes to raise the quality of life for as many disabled gamers as possible.Discover more at http://www.specialeffect.org.uk

Donation Goals:

  • £16 - I will subject myself to the horror that is Chaos Mario 64 3.0, just for you! "Press Z to instantly perish" are the last words I wish to see on the screen!
  • £32 - As a fan of the masterpieces that are the Phillips CD-i games, it's almost shameful that I haven't played any of them, but you can change that by reaching this goal, and I'll even bring in Fruityboy for this impending disaster!
  • £48 - Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour is an absolute gem, and if this goal is reached, me and friends of the Notts. scene will run an exhibition of the most chaotic tour the game has to offer: Peach's Castle Grounds!
  • £64 - What, you thought I forgot about the other CD-i masterpieces in the catalogue?? If this goal successfully reached, myself and Fruityboy will also trundle through another hallmark CD-i title: Hotel Mario!
  • £96 - Mario Party's fun, right? Well, the very first one in the series is fun in its own way, right?! If this goal is met, myself, Fruityboy, Joycey & Sma will put ourselves through the grindstone and revisit this tremendously painful experience once again!
  • £128 - This goal shall remain a mystery unless it is met, but do you want it? It's yours, my friend, as long as you have enough rubies!
