Story
33 anglers will fish the River Dee for 24 hours over midsummer this June. I’m joining in to support the Trust’s habitat , conservation and education projects to protect wild Atlantic Salmon for the future.
I was brought up right next to the river at Potarch and thanks to Ballogie Angling Club supporting estate tenants to fish the river at quiet times, I was lucky enough to spend many an evening after the pub, going down for a cast with the hope of a nice fresh sea trout. Even then I returned all my fish. Eventually my love for fishing landed me a job as the Ghillie on the Dess Estate where Mel and I, raised our boys and passed on our love for the Dee.
Last year I volunteered to help out this marathon event and this year thought I would like to have a go myself and with your generous help hope we can contribute towards the conservation work carried out by the Trust for a River that is imperative to us all.
