My clinical and research work involves looking after patients with myositis and trying to find new and more effective ways of  managing the disease. I signed up to the Winslow Half Marathon months ago and it was unfortunately cancelled due to bad weather, and rearranged on the actual day of the Myositis UK annual general meeting. I would have liked to have gone along to the meeting, and to stay involved, I told a charity that I will use the run to fund raise instead.
