Story
I have always loved watching the London Marathon and found it an inspiring event- when I was little I would tell my parents that one day I would run it to help others and as I approach the last moments of my thirties it feels that it's now or never! I am delighted to have the opportunity to raise money for WellChild with the aim of changing the lives of families of severely ill children by supporting them to care for their children at home instead of hospital.
WellChild Childrens Nurses provide essential care and practical support to children and young people requiring long-term or complex care. They play a crucial role in enabling children to leave hospital and be cared for at home, reducing the practical, emotional and financial impact for families. WellChild is also committed to funding high quality, innovative projects designed to have a positive impact for seriously ill children both now and in the future.
As a parent and teacher, I want to be a positive role model to the children in my care and hope my experience of running the London Marathon and raising money for WellChild will inspire and motivate them to take on challenges and seek opportunities to help and support others.
