My name is Heather.

I’m  co-director of Bluebird Care (Hambleton and Richmondshire). Our company assists people of all ages who need a little -or a lot-  of help to live safely and independently in their own homes.

I have run recreationally since my early 20’s,  including a few half marathons in the 90’s, but I  have never entered a marathon.

My goal in running the London Marathon 2018 is to raise as much money as possible for my chosen charity, the Institute of Cancer Research, to help them find a cure for cancer.

 The ICR is a part of the University of London, and is one of the leading charities in the world working on cancer research.They work closely with other key players such as Cancer Research UK, Breast Cancer Now and The Imperial College of London. 

I cannot think of a better cause, as just about everyone I know, both personally and professionally, has been affected by cancer in some way, and  at, the moment, everybody in the UK has a one in three chance of actually getting the disease. The need for more research is urgent so...please sponsor me to help the ICR beat cancer once and for all.
