As many of you know, I have been bonkers enough to leave my job and take a year out for travelling. Prior to making this decision, I signed up to a charity trek with Deutsche Bank. Luckily I was able to build my personal travel itinerary around this commitment and will still be taking part of a 10 day hike to Machu Picchu to raise money for two INCREDIBLY worthwhile causes. The first cause, Autistica, is a charity which both funds and campaigns for medical research to understand the causes of autism, improve diagnosis, and develop new treatments and interventions. The second cause, Hope and Homes for Children, focuses upon supporting children into loving, stable families and working with governments to tackle the root causes of family breakdown.

I will be doing lots of training in advance of the trek (like climbing a mountain in Ecuador..!) to ensure that I will be fit and healthy enough to participate in this event. Hopefully, by Oct 14th, I will have done enough altitude training to ensure that I will be powering up to the peak with the Alpaca's!
