I completed the marathon on 2/10/22 in 4 hour and 8 minutes. My Mum and sister both got round in very good times too 😊
My JustGiving page will remain open until 2nd Nov
so please share it with anyone you like or on whatever social media you use to help me reach my target 😊
To celebrate my 10th year of running the London marathon, I have chosen to raise money for Whizz-Kidz by running the 2022 marathon. I have been a Whizz-Kidz volunteer for several years and seen first hand how their work can improve a young persons life. It is fantastic to see their confidence grow as they try new experiences and learn new skills.
I've created this page because I want to make a difference. I'm inspired by the work that Whizz-Kidz do in enabling disabled children and young people to lead fun, active and independent lives. Whizz-Kidz provides vital mobility equipment, opportunities to meet and have fun, and training to help gain skills for a brighter future.
Examples of how money is used by Whizz-kidz:
£55 - enables a young person to take part in an exciting activity at a Whizz-Kidz Club, such as sports, performing arts, virtual reality gaming and robotics, giving them an opportunity to try something new and have fun.
£267 - will pay for a Whizz-Kidz Mobility Engineer to carry out a repair and maintenance appointment with a young wheelchair user, visiting them at home to fix problems they are encountering with their equipment. This ensures they are able to continue to use their wheelchair safely and enjoy their independence.
£1760 - will create a Whizz-Kidz fully-supported work placement for a young wheelchair user, enabling them to spend up to 10 days gaining vital skills and experience to help them build a career.
£5,500 - enables Whizz-Kidz to provide a powered wheelchair, helping a child to participate fully at school, in social activities and allowing them to keep up with siblings and classmates.
Your kind donations will help transform the lives of disabled children and young people across the UK, supporting them to become confident and independent young adults.
The more people that know about Whizz-Kidz, the greater the impact will be in helping more young disabled children become independent and the money you give will quite literally open up a world of opportunity for these young people. Please spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thankyou in advance for your support and generosity, it means a great deal!
